1 package of pita bread
1 15 oz can of tomato sauce
vegetable toppings of your choice (some ideas: olives, onions, sliced bell peppers, baby spinach, mushrooms)
olive oil for drizzling
1. Split open the pita bread into two halves.
2. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil onto each pita half. Use a spoon or pastry brush to lightly coat the pita.
3. Spoon desired amount of tomato sauce onto each pita half and spread.
4. Add your toppings
5. Bake in a toaster oven or oven at 350 degrees until the pita crisps up and turns golden brown on the edges, about 15 minutes.
